FreestyleMax Pty
Ltd (ABN 507 397 81328) (ACN 116 931 643) is a
privately owned Australian company, founded by
Sydney snowboarder, Stephen Leong. Stephen created
the FreestyleMax Snowboard Instructor after spending
a season in Whistler at the Pro-Ride snowboard
camp and doing the Canadian
Association of Snowboard Instructors examination. Now in its second year of operations, FreestyleMax has proudly supported many snowboarding events such as NSW Interschools, the Thredbo Freeride series, the Australian Junior Series, Mt Buller's Freestyle Friday program and kiwi production company, Reason Films (see more below).
Stephen was inspired to
create the FreestyleMax Snowboard Instructor after
being shown how to spin a 360 by his friend Juztin
Tyler (Melbourne, Australia). The motivation to
then set up the company FreestyleMax came from
Stephen’s coach, Anthony Leffelaar. After
further consultation with snowboard instructors;
friends; and in particular professional snowboarder
Mikkel Bang, Stephen learnt that many professionals
use human shaped objects to visualise their tricks.
Professional snowboarders Mikkel
Bang and Anthony
Leffelaar are sponsored by FreestyleMax
Pty Ltd and have been involved in the
development of FreestyleMax The Snowboard
Instructor.
